Choosing the right domain for your business is really important and can be a headache. Then you have to consider the hosting package and you really get confused…

Let us know what domains you want and we will take care of getting the perfect package and setting up the hosting, email etc. We will also create a holding page while your website is being built. Unlike some companies, the domains are yours and registered to you.

What are domain names?

A domain name is your web address that people type into a browser or which appears in search results in Google, Bing etc, our domain name is mjswebsitedesign.co.uk

Two years .co.uk domain and WordPress Hosting for only £230

Our WordPress hosting from 20i only costs £230 for .co.uk and includes:

  • Unlimited SSD WordPress hosting
  • Unlimited Bandwidth
  • Unlimited MySQL Databases
  • Unlimited mailboxes
  • Daily backups
  • SSL certificate on all domains

Matched .UK domains

We also recommend we purchase the matched .uk version of your chosen domain at the same time for an additional £29.40 to ring fence your company name and to stop a competitor owning a similar looking domain.

What is hosting and why do I need it?

Hosting is the computer (server) where your website lives and where your domain name sends visitors to.

Having a domain and no hosting is like owning a house but not having an address.

Your website needs to be professionally hosted on servers connected to the internet 24/7. Without hosting your website cannot be viewed. Choosing the right hosting company and package is essential to the point where it could affect your ranking, ie Google uses hosting server location as an indicator of the target audience.

If you do decide to buy yourself, ensure you know what the cost of the hosting includes ie:

  • How much web space is included
  • Does it come with daily backup
  • Is it WordPress-ready
  • Are email accounts included and if so how many Gbs
  • Is SSL is included

Whats the difference between www and @

The www indicates its a website and the .co.uk denotes its a company based in the UK. .com is widely used as a worldwide domain but essentially for US companies.

The @ symbol in front of a domain denotes its email address. We recommend you contact us first before purchasing a domain name, after all, you will need to know what to do with it once you have bought it, and if you are not sure what you are getting it could cost a lot more to correct.

We always recommend you always try and get both co.uk and .uk domain names.

If you don’t have a domain name but know what name you want, don’t rush in contact us, and let us check for you.
